Match reports 20th July

Ickleford 1st X1 were soundly beaten by 209 runs on Saturday.

Batting first Broxbourne posted an imposing 346 for 3 in their 50 overs. Openers Dissangake (71) and Ahmel (90) laid the foundations with a stand of 137 for number 3 George Davies to hit 140 including 15 sixes. For Ickleford Axel Morris took 2 of the wickets to fall.

In reply Eswar Krishnamuthy (47) and Ally Munn (35) featured in the only stand of the innings (78) as the rest of the Ickleford batting was bamboozled by Robinson 5 for 30 and Ahmed 3 for 45. Ben Mason (26) was the only other batsman to make double figures as the villagers were all out for 137 in just 29 overs.

Next week Ickleford play second in the table Langleybury.

 A weakened Ickleford 2s were well beaten by the league leaders London Colney by 9 wickets.
Ickleford won the toss and chose to bat on a good pitch. With two lively opening bowlers backed up by two good spinners Ickleford lost wickets regularly with the largest partnership only 49 between Sam Howard (31) and Scot Crouch (16). Jak Phillips top scored with 34 as the visitors were all out for 158. In reply, there were few alarms as opener Zeiderman compiled a watchful 49 no and Frame was 81 no as the total was reached in 34 overs. Scot Crouch (1-20) took the only wicket.
